Most transcription questions come down to one thing: what happens to my files? This post summarizes how DataTranscribe handles your uploads, transcripts, and credits. The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy are the authoritative versions.
Transcription
Audio and video files are transcribed automatically with OpenAI Whisper.
How long we keep things
Uploaded media is deleted within 24 hours of transcription. Transcripts are kept for 90 days and then deleted. If you want something removed sooner, email [email protected].
Who owns your content
You keep ownership of your files and transcripts. We process them only to provide the service, we do not train models on your content, and we do not sell it to third parties.
Credits and payments
Pricing is pay-as-you-go. New accounts receive 2 free minutes after email confirmation, purchased minutes do not expire and stack with your balance, and minutes are returned automatically if a job fails because of a service error. Payments are processed by Stripe. See pricing for details.
